Health Net Discloses Loss of Data to 1.9 million Customers
Health Net, a provider of managed health care services, yesterday said that it's alerting some 1.9 million customers that nine server drives containing personal and health data were recently discovered to be missing from a data center.

Study Says a Data Breach Costs $7.2 million
For the past five years, data breaches have grown more costly each year, reaching an average of $7.2 million per breach in 2010. The more records compromised in a breach, the higher the cost, according to the "2010 Annual Study: U.S. Cost of a Data Breach." On average, breached companies paid $214 per record last year.
