Perimeter eSecurity is Certified as PCI Security Standards Council Approved Scanning Vendor

Certification Underscores Perimeter’s Leadership in the Financial Services Vertical
with over 1,800 Customers in this Market Alone

Milford, CT February 15, 2007 – Perimeter eSecurity, the leading provider of Complete Security On Demand, has successfully completed the PCI Security Standards Council Approved Scanning Vendors testing process and has been certified to be able to perform PCI assessments according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

The PCI Data Security Standard, endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International, requires that merchants and service providers who store, process or transmit customer payment card data adopt information security controls and processes to ensure data integrity. Participating payment brands require PCI DSS compliance reports by a certified third-party assessor for merchants and service providers that process credit card transactions to achieve compliance. More information on the council and the standard can be found at www.pcisecuritystandards.org.

As an Approved Scanning Vendor, Perimeter eSecurity is certified to help merchants manage data security risks, evaluate the security of their systems that store payment account data and assist them in achieving compliance with the PCI DSS.

Perimeter eSecurity has achieved approved status by subjecting their vulnerability compliance suite of services to rigorous testing on the council’s infrastructure. In an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, the PCI DSS certification reassures merchants that they are being assessed accurately and fairly against the most current payment industry requirements.

“The PCI Security Standards Council is committed to helping everyone involved in the payment chain protect consumer payment data. By participating in the ASV certification process, Perimeter demonstrates they are playing an active part in this important end goal,” said Seana Pitt, chairperson, PCI Security Standards Council.

“The PCI Security Standards Council Certification is a significant addition to our industry leading layered approach to security,” said Tom Neclerio, VP of Security, Perimeter eSecurity. “We look forward to being able to cover our customers for this very important compliance standard.”
