Perimeter eSecurity Acquires Competitor Message Secure

Milford, CT January 29, 2007– Perimeter eSecurity, a venture-backed managed security services provider, has acquired Message Secure, a company offering similar services.

Milford, Conn.-based Perimeter, formerly called Perimeter Internetworking, said this is its ninth acquisition in the past three years. The deal will add more than 200 clients to give the company 1,900 financial institution customers.

Perimeter said it will maintain Message Secure's head office in Lowell, Mass.

Perimeter's services include intrusion defense, malicious code defense, secure email services, secure access, automated compliance, and network services.

The company, backed by more than $4 million in venture funding, closed its last round of funding in 2001. Its investors include 1to1 Venture Partners, Astri Group, Cisco Systems Inc., Connecticut Innovations, Total Technology Ventures, and Trident Ventures.
